Required Materials

In addition to the general requirements for participating in the Math Teacher Link Course Module Program, this module also has the following requirement:

• The Mathematica application (version 4.0 or higher) installed on the computer that you will use.
  If you, or your school, does not have Mathematica, high school teachers can buy the Teachers' edition of version 4.0 for $195 -- college teachers pay $295. It is exactly the same as the professional version that sells for $1495.  It will also have some add-ons for classroom courseware.

• If you don’t wish to own your copy of Mathematica, you can do one of the following:
  • Obtain an expiring version of the software from Wolfram Research. Tell them that you are a NetMath student and that you want a copy that expires in either 6 months ($50) or 12 months ($75).
  • If you are taking this course for credit, then the university will issue a network ID to you when you enroll. You can go to http://www.cso.uiuc.edu/software/sls and obtain a version of the software which expires in August. You will need to use the login and password that Academic Outreach gives you to login to this page and obtain the software. This is not available for export.
  
  
• Courseware CD
  All of the Calculus& Mathematica lessons for the first two semesters of calculus are available on a single CD that can be purchased from Math Everywhere.
