Description

Through this course module teachers will acquire a good conceptual understanding of the interworkings and interactions of computer hardware and software. More specifically, this module will cover the following topics in an interactive, highly graphical setting:

  • Understanding local and global internets.
  • Information transfer and storage.
  • Communication tools and protocols.
Although this module is designed to be useful for all teachers, it does discuss a number of topics that are of special interest to mathematics teachers. Credit: 1/4 grad. unit (= 1 sem. hr.) or 3 CEUs.

Computers and Connections was written by Scott and Tricia Mills Gray and Kendall Welch and posted on MTL in August 1998. Instructors for this module are Tony Peressini and Debra Woods.
